Karen Whittinghill Klyce Smith died peacefully, August 13, of cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Brigham Klyce, and her niece Rebecca Meriwether Cooper Klyce. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Esther Pearson, her stepfather, Clinton Pearson, her brother and sisters Brig Klyce, Meriwether Klyce, Virginia Klyce Minervini (John), and Ellen Cooper Klyce. She also leaves a loving extended family, and lifelong friends. Karen was born in Memphis and attended Hutchison School. After entering the University of Alabama where she joined Chi Omega sorority, she graduated from the University of Tennessee. She lived for the past seven years in Victoria Texas, attending Trinity Episcopal Church and residing at Devereux, where she was also loved. Following private burial at Memorial Park, a memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 11AM Thursday, August 18.
