

Karl Victor Dosch (75) of Oakland, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 26. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 28, 1949. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Sylvia E. (Hust) Dosch, Father, Clarence V. Dosch, and Brother-in Law, Michael K. Murray.
He is survived by his sister, Marcia B. Murray (Michael) of Cadillac, Michigan, brother, George W. Dosch (Lynn) of Des Moines, Iowa, Nephew, George Andrew Dosch of West Des Moines, Iowa, Niece, Kelly M. Thomason (Patrick) of Urbandale Iowa, grandniece, Grace Thomason of Urbandale, Iowa and grandnephew, Grant Thomason of Urbandale, Iowa, dear friends, David Marcrum and his family (Mary, Clayton, Mike), Danny Silsbe, and very close childhood friend, Beverly Preske in Evansville.
Karl grew up in Evansville, Indiana and graduated from Reitz High School. He attended the University of Evansville, then graduated from the University of Memphis in 1984. He always wanted to become a police officer. He was known to try to direct traffic on the road in front of his house when he was very young. Karl joined the Memphis Police Department in 1974 and retired in 2005.
He was a member of the Constellation Masonic Lodge #748.
Karl was a gentle soul, very kind, and a good Christian man. He attended
Highland Heights Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee.
He loved camping and loved his many pets, especially his dogs, Teddy Bear, Sheba, and Molly. He also enjoyed visiting his family of the heart in Evansville on the holidays and special occasions and vacationing in Gulf Shores with Marcia.
Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue in Memphis on Wednesday, September 4 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin. Burial will followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends and Family may visit on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society...he loved animals.
