1963. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Frances Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Barabara (Steve) Nichols; her father, Ralph (Gerry) Veth; her husband, John Swords; her son, Harrison Swords; her daughter, Catherine Swords; her sister, Janice Godebski and her children, Lula, Tati, and Leo; several extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Kelly graduated from Collierville High School and went on to pursue studies at The University of Memphis. In May of 1994 John and Kelly got married in Mumford, TN. They had two beautiful children and Kelly would say her career was being a full-time stay at home mom and that it was definitely a job (and a hard one at that!) While living in Bartlett, TN, Kelly, John, and their two kids were involved in the Bartlett United Methodist Church, and Kelly enjoyed teaching Sunday School classes there. She was small but feisty and had an eclectic personality that was fun to be around. In her free time, Kelly loved listening to music. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye were some of her favorites. She also loved to read and always was curious to learn more and see things from a unique perspective. Kelly would spend hours laying outside by the pool listening to music and talking on the phone with friends. She loved going to the beach and went on many vacations to Navarre, Florida with family. She loved watching her son in his soccer games and her daughter at her swim meets. She also enjoyed volunteering at Crossroads Hospice.
Kelly’s time on Earth was cut short but the time she spent on it was full of love, good music, fun sense of humor and she lived a full life. There will be a celebration of life held for Kelly at a later time.
