Laverne Baker

Laverne Fay Baker (Petey) age 72, of Arlington, Tennessee gained her place with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Laverne was born to the late Alton Hano and Elsie Hano Moore on November 4, 1949 in Pumpkin Center, LA.

Laverne loved everyone she ever met but she had a special love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 56 years, Charles Baker, Sr.; two daughters, Cynthia Crum of Arlington and Wanda Lewis (David, Sr.) of Denham Springs, LA; one son, Charles Baker, Jr. of Arlington; 2 son in laws, Jerry Crum and Deon Arthur both of Arlington, TN; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Crum, Lane Crum, Madison Baker, David Lewis, Jr. and Kayla Fleener; 3 great grandchildren, Morgan Crum, Korbyn Lewis and Kyran Lewis. She is also survived by two sisters, Wanda (Nele) Funderburk of Stafford, VA, Glenda (Sue) Dennis of Holden LA; one brother, Weston (KoKomo) Hano also of Holden, LA; numerous nieces and nephews.

Laverne was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Charli Nichole Lewis; one great grandson, Tylan Lewis; her parents, Alton Hano and Elsie Hano Moore; step dad, Ray Moore; two brothers, Leston (Beaver) Hano and Preston Hano and one sister, Gwendolyn Hano.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with services to follow at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue Memphis, TN 38122.
