
Lawrence Stephen Lester died on March 11th. He was 73 years old. Mr. Lester was born in Wichita, Kansas, on December 18th, 1942, to Bertrand M. and Wyrill Denise (Stoll) Lester. He is survived by his wife, Donna Lynne (Woodward) Lester, and his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Patrick and Mallory Lightman Lester, all of Memphis. Also surviving him are his siblings, Nancy Lester Bone of Kansas City, Missouri; Tom (Julie) Lester of Lenexa, Kansas; Mark (Pat) Lester of Leawood, Kansas; and Kirk (Maribeth) Lester of Wichita, Kansas. Several cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive him. Larry graduated from Blessed Sacrament School, Chaplain Kapaun Memorial High School, and Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. He joined the US Air Force in 1965 and served as a pilot during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and flew for Federal Express from 1975 until his retirement in 2002. In addition to his home in Memphis, he had a summer home in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church at 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon, March 16th.
