Lillie Jean Heller

Ms. Heller was born in Lamar, AR. on April 16, 1925. She was a resident of Germantown, TN for over 40 years. She was the devoted wife of Seymour Heller who preceded her in death on April 14, 2014. During World War 2 she worked for the phone company as an operator helping to pass classified information via teletype. As the spouse of a soldier she had the opportunity to travel the world including two years in Turkey. She was also the devoted mother of Suzanne Carpenter, loving mother in law of Ronald Carpenter, Sr. and grandmother to Ronald and Samuel Carpenter. She was a member of First Evangelical Church of Memphis. Mrs. Heller was at home surrounded by family and friends as she passed on to Glory on July 21, 2016.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 30, 2016, 2 pm at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Chapel.

Interment will be at a future date in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Bedford Head and Lillie Hackett Head. Also her sisters Hilda Russell (Fred), Florence Hall (Clarence), Evelyn Chlorene Williams (Al), and her brothers Robert Head (Jesse) and James Head (Juanita). Her nieces Sharon Curtis and Bobbie Hamill.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews whom she loved and prayed for on a daily basis.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
