Linda was born December 12, 1937, in Sardis, Tenn., daughter of the late James Uil Presley and Bertha Jane Montgomery Presley. She was raised on her father‘s farm, and in her late teens, she met Landon Cromwell, the man who would be her husband for 52 years. The couple attended business school in Nashville, then settled in Memphis, where they raised three children while Linda supported Landon’s entrepreneurial ventures as an independent businessman.
Eventually, she began her own career as a type setter in the printing business, then later worked as a bookkeeper, and finally as a customer service associate for a medical equipment company. Linda loved bowling, attending church, puzzles of all types, but most of all, she loved spending quality time with her grandsons. Her warm smile and even warmer hugs felt like home.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her brother, Robert Presley, and sister, Alene Presley McCollum. She is survived by her daughter, Nedra Robison (Ken), of Eads, Tenn.; sons Jason Cromwell (Joanie) of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Brett Cromwell (Suzzanne) of Lowell, Mass.; one sister, Joyce McBride, of Lexington, Tenn., and six grandsons.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 7, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, at Family Funeral Care in Memphis. A graveside service will be held at Prospect Cemetery in Sardis on Saturday, November 8, at 10:00 am.
