Linda "Gail" Moore-Smith

Gail was the kind of person who made people feel seen. She loved people deeply, never met a stranger, and had a contagious smile that could light up a room. She was caring, generous, and almost always thinking about someone else before herself. For Gail, loving and caring for others simply came naturally.

Gail read Scripture daily, her "Mornings with Jesus". She treasured those moments of prayer, reflection, and time in God’s Word. At the time of her passing, she had been reading Matthew 3, about the baptism of Jesus.

She also lived with the kind of peace described in Colossians 3:15 — a peace rooted not in circumstances, but in Christ. That peace, along with her kindness, generosity, and love for others, was evident throughout her life.

Of all the names and titles Gail carried throughout her life, two of her favorites were "Gigi" and "Grammy". She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the love she had for them was one of the great joys of her life.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Inez Wooten, and her brother, Dick Wooten, and his wife, Rosemary.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ken Smith, whose love and companionship were a treasured part of her life; her children, Todd Parker and his wife Carrie, and their children, Caleb and his wife Cynthia (their children Camille and CJ), and Corbin and his wife Madi (their daughter May); Rusty and his wife Tara, and their children, Della and Grey; and Matt and his wife Lindsey, and their children, Hudson, Hayden, and Hank.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Martha Kyle; her stepchildren Brandi Beeler and her children, Jayla, Brooklyn, and Skylar; Kayla Smith and her son Kaius; and Gary Green and his wife Lauren, and their children Jaylen and Riley; as well as many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her and, more importantly, to be loved by her.

Deuteronomy 30:19 speaks of choosing life and leaving something meaningful for the generations that follow. Gail's life reflected that beautifully. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family that will continue through the lives of those she loved most.

Her family will miss her smile, her warmth, her care for others, and the way she made ordinary moments feel special. In the midst of that loss, they find comfort in knowing where Gail placed her hope.

The faith that carried her through life now brings comfort to those she leaves behind. The words she loved most will continue to bring peace:

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, US, on September 27, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
