
The funeral services for Lisa Dianne Spencer Bridges are set for 10 am Monday, September 5, 2016 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will be at Falkner Cemetery in Falkner, Mississippi at 1 pm the same day.
Lisa Dianne Spencer Bridges was born in Corinth, Mississippi on February 13, 1963. She was a graduate of Kossuth High School and a member of the class of 1981. She attended Northeast MS Junior College and continued her education at the University of MS Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory technology. She loved her career choice and excelled in it for the past 30 years. Lisa's current position, as Laboratory Director at Compass Laboratory Services, was a source of challenge, pride, and great personal reward. Lisa Dianne Spencer Bridges passed away after a year long battle with cancer. Lisa was surrounded and comforted by her family. Lisa was 53 years of age. Lisa Dianne Spencer was the daughter of the late Mary Coke Spencer and William Derrell Spencer. Lisa was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Nita Phillips Bridges. Lisa is survived by her husband of 25 years, Herbert Preston Bridges; one son, Corey Michael Mills; daughter-in-law, Liz Langenfelder Mills; and her pride and joy, grandson, Jack William Mills. Lisa had one brother, Gary Lowell Spencer. She had two nephews; Jason Martin Spencer (Tara Jones Spencer); Clinton Thomas Spencer (Jennifer Swan Spencer); and once niece; Amanda Lauren Spencer Watson (Justin Watson). Lisa had three nephews; Anderson Nails, Cole Spencer, and Cannon Spencer, and one great niece; Neely Sha Spencer. Lisa was a member of the Baptist faith. Lisa had a host of family and friends that loved her and will miss her each and every day. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the West Cancer Center or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
