I met Lito on a Greyhound bus in the summer of 1997,  when I was 27 years old & just graduated from W.S.U. I was on my way back to Pullman, WA from a vacation trip to Florida.  Somewhere along that route,  Lito sat next to me on the bus & on the rest of the way to the Pacific Northwest, he made sure I was safe from strangers until he departed at his stop in Idaho (Boise, perhaps?) and he also made sure my luggage was transferred with me, along the route. Upon his destination first,  we exchanged contact information (this was pre-social media days), took a couple of pictures, and he gave me a book "The Search For The Twelve Apostles". He may have sent me one or two letters after that trip, but I never talked to him again because I was preoccupied with my "twenty-something" year-old life. 
Fast forward Jan 2021, after cleaning out a room in my house to prepare for a big move to Ft Myers, Florida this year, I came across an old address book with his name & ministry ship address in it from 1997, and decided to look him up on the Internet, which sadly brings me here...to his obituary page. 
In just the small amount of time I knew Lito, I could tell he was a caring, Christian man of God who showed the love of Christ...and although I only knew him very briefly, he made an impact on me, as a Christian myself. He took the time to make sure a travelling stranger got to their destination safely...which I did. I wanted to write my condolences here for his family and friends, and tell my little story, even if it IS 9 years later.  Maybe in his belongings there is a picture of a young woman standing near a monument in the middle of the USA... God bless you Always, Lito...

I am wondering why he died. I remember him being a quiet and thoughtful person with a clear vision and heart for people. 

I have been waiting for Pastor Lito to claim his belonging he left in our home in 2009. He stayed in our home when we were converting the home for an Adult Family Home for elderly.  To this day we know he blessed us and the home. I used to go to Seattle to evangelize to Filipino seamen. We know he is in heaven. There is a box maybe we can ship by boat to Philippines.
