Louise Holmes Doss

Born on July 12, 1921 and passed on January 21, 2017. She was born in Chester Co., TN (Jack’s Creek Community), daughter of the late Fatie and Sid Holmes. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Kenneth, Clyde, Margie (Smith) and Vagia (Wheeler). Her family resided in Henderson, TN. In 1937 she married Russell E. Doss who served in Europe and was wounded in WWII. They moved to Memphis after his discharge where he worked for Sealtest Dairy until his retirement. Their marriage lasted 58 years until his death in 1995. Louise’s surviving family includes her daughter, Judy Doss Clenney, son-in-law, Beryl, and two grandchildren, Kerry and Riley (and his wife Christie). She and her husband were members of Highland St. Church of Christ. For the past 22 years she has been a Berclair Church of Christ member. She was a homemaker, a great mother and grandmother and always devoted to her family and church. Her family would like to thank Berclair Church for fellowship and transportation. Also to the staff of Ava Maria for 30 months of great care. Visitation will be at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., on Wednesday, January 25th from 12 pm until service begins at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that all memorials be sent to Berclair Church of Christ Mission Fund.
