Louise L. Woods

Louise L. Woods, 84, of Memphis, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 2, 2014. Born on January 26, 1930, to sharecroppers in Clarksdale, MS, Louise became a feisty, independent woman. She loved serving as a caregiver to everyone she knew, and above all she loved her “Kang Jesus”. She lived by the mantra, “The best man for a job, is a wo-man”, and her family says “she was a little piece of leather, well put together”. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Miller Harris and Henry Lee Langston. Mrs. Woods leaves 5 daughters, Zola Colvin, Loisteen Skinner, Lucille Walton, Minnie Walton, and Barbara Ann Langston; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; her sister, Leola Harris; and her brother, Henry Harris. The family will gather with family and friends to celebrate Louise’s life on Saturday, March 8, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue.
