She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 20, 1941, the daughter of the late Casimer Kolongowski and Jean L Kotcko and sister to Sidney Kolongowski. Growing up, Lolly lived in Melvindale, Michigan where she attended school and graduated from Melvindale High School in 1959.
In 1963, she met the love of her life at the local bowling alley, where she worked. They fell in love and soon after, Lolly was married to James A McLane on January 30, 1965 in Melvindale Methodist Church. God blessed them with 4 beautiful children, Barre J Lee, Carrie J Jester, James A McLane IV, and Laurel A McLane. They moved to Memphis, TN in May of 1981 when her husband became the Facilities Administrator for Methodist Hospitals of Memphis.
She showed her artistic abilities at an early age through her sketching and paintings as a teenager in Michigan. In the 80’s and early 90’s she was employed as a make up artist and managed the Merle Norman in Cordova, TN. In 1995, Lolly further shared her artistic and creative abilities as the owner of Lasting Impressions boutique in Cordova, TN where she displayed and showed her unique art, floral arrangements, gourmet gift baskets, and home decor items. Her specialty was Christmas decor. Her beautiful wreaths and centerpieces adorned many homes in the Memphis area.
Lolly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. More than anything, Lolly’s true happiness was found in taking care of her family. She especially loved taking care of the babies and had a special gift of settling a crying one. She was known for her love of history, reading or listening to books, spoiling her grand dogs, painting, movie watching, puzzles and games on her iPad, quick wit, fierce competitor, playing cards, and a generous spirit.
As a firm believer in the Christian faith, she continued her knowledge and studies of the Bible throughout her life and especially loved her Bible Study Fellowship family. Lolly is a member of Hope Church in Cordova Tennessee and has served as a Care Caller there for many years.
Lolly’s gift of love won the hearts of the many who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and generosity for others.
