Growing up near Rosemark, Tennessee, Lynda worked alongside her parents and her eight siblings on a farm in the area. Later, while employed at Firestone, she met and worked alongside Curtis. They married in 1948 and spent time in Georgia while Curtis completed his Air Force service. After returning to Memphis, they became very active at First Assembly of God church.
Lynda and Curtis were inseparable for the 68 years they were married, and she loved spending time with all her family. After Curtis’ passing in 2016, Lynda drew strength from her deep faith in God. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and watching Hallmark movies and Memphis Tigers basketball games.
Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and eight siblings – Conway Mcknatt, Illa Johnson, Margaret Christensen, Virginia Maulden, Verta Chapman, Leslie McKnatt, Ernest McKnatt, and Winifred Proctor. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Nelson (Cotton) of Arlington; son, Keith Null of Bartlett; five grandchildren, Jessica Gupton, Joseph Null, Cole Null, Abby Nelson, and Laura Dumser; and five great-grandchildren.
Lynda was a prayer warrior and always thankful for those who cared for her. She will be remembered for her love for and dedication to her family.
The family is especially grateful to Elnora Oliver and the staff at Great Southern Senior Living for the care and companionship they provided.
Friends and family will be received during a visitation on Wednesday, March 13 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
