Lynwood Echols was born October 11, 1948 in Holly Springs, Mississippi, the second son of eight children, to Bernice Echols-Henderson and the late Ernest Echols. Lynwood accepted Christ at an early age at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
He attended Georgia Hill Elementary School and LaRose Special Training School. After graduation, he worked in maintenance for the Board of Education. Later he worked as a Chef’s assistant for Stein’s Restaurant.
Lynwood will forever be remembered for his outgoing, flirtatious and humorous personality. On November 8, 2015 Lynwood went home to be with The Lord. Gone but never forgotten, he will lovingly be remembered by his circle of family and friends: Johnnie V. Echols (Brenda), Curtis Echols (Sheila), Leon Echols (Loretta),Patricia Brooks, Ida E. Binion, Ernest Echols, Jr, Donald Echols, his great aunt Agnes Fenton of Englewood, New jersey, aunt Beatrice Ball of California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
