Margaret Nubia-Porter Brake

Margaret Nubia Porter Brake was born on August 22, 1935 to parents Esteen and Noble Nubia. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended cosmetology school. Margaret was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church Memphis.

Margaret developed a love of beauty and fashion at an early age. Her career began as a model then she progressed to working in beauty salons at The Chisca Hotel, House of Fashion and Goulds Salon. She expanded her career by working in customer service at Mid-South Builders and Affordable Remodelers before retiring.

Margaret earned her heavenly wings on Saturday, June 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esteen and Noble Nubia & four sisters and their husbands, June (Bennie) Donelson, Sr.; Joan (Reuben) Farmer; Noblean (Fred) Jacob and Dorothy (James) Sweeting.

Fond memories of Margaret will be forever cherished by her family, sons Carlton Dewayne (Paula) Porter and Charles Kevin Brake; two grandchildren Kristen Nicole Porter and Brandon Dewayne (Claire) Porter; two great granddaughters Londyn Nicole Porter and Celine Collins Porter; two sisters Shirley (Jimmie) Ellis and Catherine Nubia along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
