

Mariglyn Cobb Ellis passed after a long illness on March 16, 2026. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee. She lived in Tennessee and Indiana before moving to Hutchins, Texas. She graduated from Wilmer-Hutchins High School in 1958. She attended Memphis State University. She started working at Schering Plough in 1960 and continued until she retired after 40 years. She started as a secretary for Landon Smith, one of the vice presidents. She met her future husband, Fred Ellis, on a blind date on Valentine’s Day and they were married September 17, 1960. She had one daughter, Sheila Ellis Cross and one beloved granddaughter, Emily Cross.
She also leaves behind her beloved brother, William Lewis. She was preceded in death by her birth-father, Jack Cobb; her parents, Opal Lewis and Orville Lewis; and her husband and the love of her life, Carva Frederick Ellis.
Her family and friends will miss her laughter and friendship.
Graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, March 23 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the charity of a donor's choice.
