Mark Collins Barrett of Fairfield Bay, AR, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 70 years old. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Buddy” Barrett, and his mother, Francis Elizabeth Barrett, as well as the mother of his 4 children, Karen Lynn Barrett.
Mark is survived by his wife, Charlene Lane, of Fairfield Bay, Ar, his children, Jennifer Lynn Cardenas of Middleton, Tn, Mark Collins Barrett II of Lake Fork, Tx, Allison Rae Hartman (Steven) of Pensacola, Fl, and Margaret Elizabeth Anderson (Joshua) of Hernando, Ms. He has 12 grandchildren that fondly call him “Poppy”. He also leaves behind his sister, Jennifer Helms (Micheal) of Concord, NC, and his brother Larry Barrett (Fran) of Smyrna, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mark is also survived by his bonus family that he gained when he met his wife, Charlene. Her two sons, Benjamin Evans and Daniel Evans and 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Mark was a child of God who believed in the Almighty Savior. He was also a Bass Pro Fisherman, a pilot, former owner of Barrett and Associates and after he retired, worked part-time for Auto Zone. Most would say he was a “Jack of all trades, Master of all”. He and Charlene moved to Fairfield Bay, Ar in 2017 to live the grand life on Greers Ferry Lake. Mark was a great fisherman and even better friend. He will be missed by all.
The family cannot thank the staff at Washington Regional Medical Center for taking care of him in his last moments of life. We thank you and will never forget you.
Visitation will be held on February 10, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Funeral Service will be held after at 2:00 pm. Committal Service will be held at 3:30 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN.
