Marolyn Jamison Vires, age 88, of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Marolyn was born October 7, 1932 in Bradford, Tennessee to William Tolbert Jamison and Carma Yearwood Jamison.
Marolyn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Jamison. She is survived by her three sons, Steve Vires (Beth), Randy Vires (Melinda), and Joe Vires (Valerie); three grandchildren, Boone, Nathaniel, and Olivia; five step-grandchildren, Tony Stump, Matthew Stump, Ashley Fisher, Paxton Cook, and Chance Cook; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Fisher; and four step-great-grandchildren, Cooper Stump, Cruze Stump, Mia Fisher, and Letty Fisher.
Marolyn became a member of Central Church in Collierville, Tennessee in 2004 when she moved to Olive Branch. She attended many bible studies and Central Church and was very active in her Sunday school class until she became ill.
She was very talented and loved crafting and floral arrangements. For years she made picture books for nursing homes and she called that her ministry. Marolyn was active in the Community Fellowship Bible Study for many years. She spent many hours reading her bible and studying until her vision failed.
Before becoming a member of Central Church she was an organist for many years. She was a very talented piano player and organist. She also inherited the talent of painting from her mother. Marolyn painted many oil paintings that now hang in family and friends' homes.
In her younger years while raising her three sons, she was a Cub Scout den mother, PTA officer, Shelby County youth sports officer, and member of the Booster Club and Civitan Club. After her sons grew up, she became involved in real estate. She retired as one of the best real estate ladies of Memphis.
Marolyn was a good Christian mother and lady. She loved life and her three sons--they were her world!
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM until funeral services celebrating her life at 2:00 PM, all at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. An escorted procession will then proceed to Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee for graveside committal services.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Homebound Ministry at Central Church.
