Born in Decaturville, Tennessee on September 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Floyd & Myrtle Crawley. Martha attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson, Tennessee where she met the love of her life Bill Glenn. They were married for 31 years before his untimely death in 1987. Together they started General Building Services in 1974 and have been in business for 50 years. They also were involved with the Gideons International where she served in the auxiliary until her health would no longer let her continue.
She was an avid gardener and a full time Memphis Tigers fan. She loved to have her grandchildren come over and they loved to be there and spend the night with her. She was known for her Divinity. So much that the governor and first lady of Arkansas, Asa & Susan Hutchinson invited her to teach their cook staff how to make her recipe. She also made a mean cheesecake and strawberry pie! She loved being around her family as much as anyone. It was a priority to her.
Along with her parents and husband, Ms. Glenn was preceded in death by her son Kenneth Glenn, her six siblings and her daughter-in-law Emily Glenn.
Martha is survived by her son John (Cheryl) Glenn; daughter-in-law Debbie Glenn; grandchildren Elisabeth (Zach) Seal, Jonathan Glenn, Rebekah Glenn, Kendall Glenn; and her great-grandchildren Evelyn, Henry and Claire Seal.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, April 9 beginning at 12:30 pm until funeral services begin at 2:00 pm all at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
