Martha Elizabeth Kisner 87 of Memphis, TN took the hand of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 and was welcomed into heaven by her parents Joseph and Imogene Moore, her sister Gloria Rees, her brother Joseph "Sonny" Moore, her son Joseph Russell "Rusty" Kisner, her grandson Brandon Keith and her nephew Ricky Moore. We can only imagine that upon her arrival, her son Rusty could be seen gently pushing or what may be perceived by some as forcefully shoving people out of the way while proudly and loudly exclaiming "Move out of the way folks, here comes my mama!!!" She leaves behind her faithful companion and bestfriend of the past 2.5 years, her Yorkie named "Izzy". Izzy gave her unconditional love, comfort and joy at a time when she needed it the most. When talking to her, you would hear all about Izzy and how Izzy was the greatest gift she had ever received. There were some that never realized she also had (4) other children, (3) grandchildren and (1) great grandchild which I now feel obligated to mention. Marcia "Marc" Kisner of Somerville, TN, Bill Kisner (Dottie) of Jackson, TN, Casey Kisner (Carol) of Grain Valley, MO, Lea Lawrence of Southaven, MS, Joe Ellis (Alicia) of Carlsbad, NM, Beth Culpepper (Ashley) of Humboldt, TN, Emily Bryant (Spencer) of Jackson, TN and Josie Culpepper of Humboldt, TN. Often referred to as Mom, Mama, Ma, Nannie bug and Nona, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family. She truly loved each and everyone of us (almost as much as Izzy) and to us, SHE was the greatest gift we had ever received. She will be greatly missed by her family including her daughter in law Laura Michelle Kisner, her sister in law Bettye Moore her nieces Alisa Sharp (Don), Tammy Hale as well as so many others that knew and loved her. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the men and women of both the Memphis Police and Fire Department for their dedication, quick response, professionalism and genuine concern for our mother's health and well being. Also, to the ER nurses, doctors and staff at Baptist Hospital-East for their efforts, compassion and care, not only for our mom but for the family as well during this most difficult time. Out of concern for the safety, health and well being of others brought on by the covid-19 pandemic, the family has chosen to hold a celebration of her life at a time and date to be announced later. We hope at that time you can all join us for what will most assuredly be a loving, beautiful celebration and tribute to her life.
