MARY MAGDALEN ROMER BORGER, 97, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was born July 23, 1914 in St. Henry, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna Romer. She was the youngest and last survivor of 16 children. Mary was a beautician and had her own beauty shop for twenty years before moving to Memphis in 1951. Mary was a member of the Daughters of Isabell, the Ladies of Charity, St. Michael and St. Louis Catholic church Altar Guilds. She and her husband were founding members of St. Louis Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing golf. She leaves her husband of 76 years, Luke F. Borger; two daughters, Mary Ann (Tony) Cremerius and Mary Jean (Ed) Crenshaw, both of Memphis. She also leaves nine grandchildren: Stephen (Robin), Robert (Alexis), James (Jennifer) and David (Rita) Cremerius and Mary Angela (Scott) Werner, Cheryl (Jay) Eubank, Lisa (Greg) Blair, Deborah (Rich) Harty, and Christine (Gene) Ross. She leaves 22 great-grandchildren: Luke, Keith, Kimberly, Stephanie, Haley, Caroline, Conner, Kallie, Courtney, Anna Kate, and Maria Cremerius, Mary Katherine and Sam Werner, Shannon, Paige and Sydney Eubank, Coleman, Reid, and Trevor Blair, Lauren (Chris) Hughes and Nathan and Nicole Harty. She leaves two great-great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Olivia Hughes. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, at St. Louis Catholic Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue.
