Mary Lynn Britt, age 89, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Christian Care Center, Memphis, TN. Mary Lynn Britt, nee Benham, was born December 27, 1931 in Memphis, TN. She was the beloved daughter of Fletcher L. Benham and Birdie Mae Benham, nee Mann.

Mary Lynn, a life-long Memphian, attended Central High School, where she met her future husband of 59 years, Thomas Ray Britt. Mary Lynn was a loving and dedicated wife and mother of three children. She had a passion for antiques and operated a booth at the flea market for many years. She had a gifted talent for artistic work with flower arrangements and won many ribbons at the Mid-South Fair. Later in life, she worked in the healthcare industry. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her daughter, Susan Britt-Sisk; her brother, Bobby D. Benham; and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Sherry L. Hudson (Jim) of Germantown, TN; a son, Alan D. Britt of Katy, TX; a granddaughter, Amanda D. Schalyo (CJ) of Cypress, TX; and a great-grandson, Preston Schalyo.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 23 beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, all at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel. Interment will occur in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to FedEx Family House, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, or a charity of the donor's choice.

I used to work at christian care center of memphis where mrs.Britt was a resident there i used to come and clean her room.i always check on her to make sure she was okay.im blessed to have met her she was a wonderful lady I miss you my sweet angel
