Mary Elizabeth Crosby

Mary Elizabeth Crosby, 86, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 23, 2012. Mary was born in Fulton, MS on December 24, 1925. She was preceded in death by her mother Rosa Lee McGaughy, sister Helen Emanus, brother David McGaughy and son-in-law, Roger Steele, Sr. She leaves to mourn her loss, brother Alfred McGaughy; son, Willard Freeze (Linda) and daughter Nancy Steele. Mary was the grandmother to six: Denny Steele, Kellen Steele, Kreston Steele, Mary Jane Freeze, April Ann Rogers and Gene Freeze, and the great-grandmother to 11. Mary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Mary moved to Memphis in the 1950's where she was a manager for Dobbs House for many years until her retirement. After 10 years of retirement and caring for her mother, she went to work for Walmart for several years where she enjoyed meeting many new people. She was a devout Christian and member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, September 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue with a graveside service 10 a.m. Thursday at Memphis Memory Gardens Mauloseum.
