She was really loved she had a calm and caring spirit I met her many years ago. She opened up and welcomed us in as family. Every time I come to Memphis from Louisiana. I got a pound cake or a 7up cake I met her through my sister, Yalaunda Taylor. She would truly be missed. May God give you strength and peace. As you lay your family member 2 rest.

I offer my condolences to Trenton Watson and the entire family. Mrs. Hurd was a classmate, church member, and friend of my mother. She was such a sweet human being and always had a kind word. When I went to college at Tennessee State University, she shared with me her experiences, and said, "these will be some of the best years of your life, don't waste them." she was right. May she rest in heavenly peace.

Mary was a close friend of my mother and our family. She and my mother talked often. It brought my mother such joy to talk with Mary. Mary was nice, and I am glad to have known her. It was wonderful of her and her sisters to come to my mother's 90 birthday. That was the last time I saw her, and I got to share with her and her sisters a bit of wisdom that her own mother shared with me. Mary, you will be missed.

My prayers are with Dorthra, Doll, Betty, Jack Edward, Treton, and the entire family.

While I did not personally know Ms. Hurd, I have been blessed to witness her granddancer Micah blossom into a beautiful young lady both inside and out. This is evidence of love, discipline, faith and the phenomenal example that the best grandmothers provide. So, I know a lot about Ms. Hurd from the evidence she has left behind. What a fantastic person she must have been. What a tremendous loss you must feel. Micah, Trent, Vashti, and to the entire family, I am so sorry you have this journey at this time. I will continually pray for healing and peace to wash over each one of you.

Great is His mercy,

Mrs. Hurd knew me prior to becoming a mom. Each visit no matter how far between, she loved on me and left me with wisdom each session. After I become a moma she sent this poem as a gift from Memphis to FL. It is one of the few baby items I kept and cherish as my child is now a teenager. I often to the words mentioned with to help guide me when Im lost. I also think of Mrs. Hurd when I look at this or am reminded of remaining a lady at all times. Her demeanor taught me alot, her wisdom provided me a road map and her elegance impressed me every time. I am honored to have known her and experienced her. I will never forget her laugh, smile, or energy. Rest well thy good and faithful servant ❤️

You will be missed so much. You were one of the sweetest persons I know and I was happy to call you my aunt. I hate that we never made time to do the lunch we talked about. Prayers to all who loved you dearly and my sincere condolences.

My condolences to the Hurd family. God blessed me to meet his wonderful servants Mr & Mrs Hurd, during a visit from Texas with my family member, Ms Taylor to their loving home. I was touched by her grace and inspiring words she bestowed on me. From that day forward, she became a positive influence in my life. She is a beacon of light and that light shined it's brightest when she was in your presence. May her light continue to shine and her memory live on. Many Blessings to the Hurd family.

Lloyd and Edna Williamson sends our sincere condolences to Ms Mary Hurd family. Although, we’ve known you a short while you became a part of our family. As your new Neighbors we will certainly miss seeing your beautiful smile.

Rest in Heaven Ms Mary Ella Hurd.

Much Love

Dear Mrs. Mary Hurd,
Thanks so much for being my friend since 1984. You blessed me over and over from college to career. I will miss the late night calls and early morning spiritual conversations. I did find the answer to the last interrogative that you left on my voice mail on June 24, 2023 concerning the number 9 in the Holy Bible. Just want to let my light shine from all that I learned from you with others for the rest of my life. My prayers are sent to the family and friends who will continue cherishing the memories. Love you, Love you.
Sincerely,
Sis. Glorious Mitchell
