Mary Terry Land

Mary Terry Land passed away at home on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of 69. She was born on December 19, 1943 to Clifford and Guila Terry in Jackson, TN. She was a graduate of Treadwell High School. She retired from Memphis Symphony Orchestra after 42 years of service as business manager. She was a dedicated employee to the orchestra, but her music heart belonged to Elvis. Before she became ill, she attended Trinity in the Fields Anglican Church in Marion. Ms. Land was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Terry and Guila Turner, stepfather, Parke Turner, brother, Dwight Kirk, and niece, Tammy Sims. She is survived by her children, Angela Fink and Jerry Land, both of Memphis; granddaughter, Nicole Fink of Destin, FL; grandson, Cody Yerby of Marion, AR; sisters, Jane Gabbard of Oakland, TN, Hazel Williams of Springfield, IL; sister-in-law, Sandra Kirk of Atoka, TN, three nieces, three great-nieces, and four great-nephews. The family will receive family and friends at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN. Services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorials to be sent to the American Cancer Society , St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Christ Community Health Services.
