Mary E. Helbig McCalla

Mary Ellen Helbig McCalla, 84, of Springdale, Arkansas, retired employee of Shelby County Sheriff’s Department died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas after a long illness. Visitation will be Saturday, February 4 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 5599 Poplar Avenue. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home traveling to Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN, for a graveside service beginning at 2:00p.m. She was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. Mrs. McCalla, spouse of the late William B. McCalla leaves three daughters Lynn Luton of Houston, Texas; Marcia Smith and Gwyn Bandy both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and a son W. Gary McCalla of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
