Mary Elizabeth Simmons, 80, of Minneola, FL, formerly of Germantown, TN passed away Monday evening, November 30. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert D. Simmons, Jr. She leaves two children, Pat Shackelford (Bill) and Danny Simmons (Rhonda); three grandchildren, Brandi Webb (Bill) and Kasey and Daniel Simmons, one great- grandchild, Savannah Webb; sister, Ila Holt (Bill); niece, Paige Carruth (Paul) and other dear nieces and nephews. She was a preschool teacher for many years in the Memphis area and was a charter member of Kensington Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., followed by a private family graveside service in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene.
