She is survived by her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Suzie Q, brother, John L. Erwin, Jr. (Ann) of Southaven, MS and two sisters, Jenilara Moore of Memphis, TN and Deanne Holloway of Chattanooga, TN. Melanie did not have any children, but she was greatly loved by 5 Nephews and 3 Nieces: Chris Erwin (Cindy), Kevin Erwin (Debra), Carl Lindsey Price (Lisa), Michael Moore, Shawn Moore (Margaret), Barbara Gayle Price, Andrea Gallimore (Mark) and Celia Abbott (David). She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dixie, her brother William (Bill) E. Erwin and 2 dogs, Funny Face and Pepper.
She worked her way up the corporate ladder from Secretary to Vice President of VICO GM Diesel, Inc. of Memphis until the company was sold in the late 1980s.
Melanie was a source of laughter for family and friends. At Christmas, she was known for giving silly gifts such as Out-House ornaments. Every year, Melanie was celebrated along with the founding of our Nation (U.S.A.) on the 4th of July.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10 at 2pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122.
