

LTC Michael Cecil Lamberth, 57, of Memphis, TN, passed away on May 21, 2014. Bearing the family legacy of being named after both of this grandfathers, LTC Lamberth was born on May 16, 1957, and was the third son to John H. and Mary P. Lamberth of Indianapolis, IN. Growing up in Indianapolis, IN, LTC Lamberth attended Franklin Central High School, graduating in 1975. In 1976, LTC Lamberth attended the US Military Preparatory School and from 1977 to 1980, was the first person from his high school to attend and graduate from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. Post graduation, LTC Lamberth served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer and was assigned to several posts throughout Europe and Fort Meade, Maryland.
LTC Lamberth rarely knew a stranger and befriended everyone he met. He had a dynamic personality and all who knew him called him friend, respected and admired him. Once he was diagnosed with ALS it became his mission in life to provide aid and support others with the disease. Along with his wife Anita, he selflessly assisted families traverse the complexities and the travails that are associated with the disease. He approached his illness with dignity and grace, helping to prepare his loved ones for his passing.
In his private life, LTC Lamberth was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, holding his fondest memories of his youthful summers in the Northern woods of Wisconsin, walleye fishing with his father and brothers. He lived his life with no regrets and to the fullest. Once asked if he had a bucket list he replied, "No, I have done everything I could ever have wanted to do."
LTC Lamberth's legacy is survived by his wife Anita; his children, Devin, Garrett, Scottea, Baily, Collin, Jesse, Lacey, and Ross; a granddaughter, Branwen; as well as his mother, brothers and sisters.
