Michael John O'Connor

Michael John O’Connor, aged 59 years, went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 25th, 2017. He was born in Birmingham, England on January 22nd, 1958 and moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2001 as part of his contract with Smith & Nephew. Although he was very successful in life, Mike was very humble and believed that his greatest success was his family. Being very kindhearted, he laughed often, loved many, and many loved him.

Mike traveled extensively for business and on vacation. He was always ready to join in fun activities, whether singing to Elvis in Karaoke, skiing with the family, golfing with colleagues or his boys, or attending a variety of concerts, being a massive Eagles fan. Mike was an avid Memphis Grizzlies’ basketball fan, and followed Aston Villa Football Club from birth.

He leaves behind his loving wife Shelley, sister Denise, his five children, Paul, Craig, Hannah, Jo, and Phoebe, and Grandson Charlie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 1st July at 2pm at Ridgeway Baptist Church. The family respectfully asks that you consider a donation in Mike’s name to the Church Health Center.
