He was 17 years old when he joined the United States Marine Corps with his twin brother, Herb, on April 1, 1953. He first saw combat soon after joining, during his very first year. He served in French Morocco as part of the World War II era occupation force and two and half tours in Vietnam. He retired from the military in January 31, 1974. Milton later retired from Great Lakes as an instrumentation technician.
He was very active in the Marine Corps League, participating in service projects, including Toys for Tots, Wounded Warrior Project, Gold Star Monument, new veterans home (Arlington, TN), distributing wheelchairs, assisting with veteran benefits, mentoring young Marines and young people, and presentations to school children. He also selflessly volunteered much of his time to honoring veterans for their service to our country as part of funeral honor guards. Milton was also a member of the Devil Dogs (Jackson, TN).
Milton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey Logan Casey; children, Danny Casey, Darrell Casey, and Colleen Funk (Mark); grandson, Logan Daniel Casey; and siblings, Herb Casey (Betty) and Ann Kelly (Bruce).
