May 4, 1945 – March 20, 2018
Morris Allen (Al) Bourland, 72, of Senatobia, Mississippi died with his family by his side on March 20, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, AR as a result of a massive hypertensive hemorrhage in his brain.
Al was born on May 4, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his career as an auto-body technician and went on to be an award winning dealer for Snap-On Tools before he began his own automotive after-market business. He was the owner of Nova Systems, Inc, an aircraft paint and supply company. Al was a man of many talents with an unsurpassable work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. He built houses and metal buildings including his office and warehouse and a number of dry dock boat storage buildings, for which he designed and constructed a unique system for the doors.
His passions were without doubt his family and target shooting. He was an active member of the Cleburne County Shooting Club. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughter and developing hunting land with his son. He was delighted by his granddaughters and loved to hear them play their musical instruments, watch them play soccer, participate in school and church performances, and sing. Al found great peace being at the lake and spent many hours driving the boat while his granddaughters enjoyed riding a huge raft behind. He had a big smile, a big heart, and many good friends. He often popped kettle corn outdoors in a huge kettle, and friends would gather around to share and fellowship.
While he was a Baptist at heart, he was a member of the Senatobia Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Belvia Phillips Bourland, his son, Allen Bourland (Wendy), his daughter, Rebecca Floyd (Kevin) and four granddaughters, Caroline Floyd, Aubrey Bourland, Allison Floyd and Sydney Bourland, also, one brother, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar Allen Bourland and
Etonia Frayser Bourland.
