Born June 1, 1945, in Pasadena, California, she was the middle of three daughters born to the late Andrew and Opaline Bennett. She graduated from Coahoma County Mississippi High School and attended Business School in Memphis.
On a blind date arranged by their parents, Nancy met her husband of 59 years Jerry Young. Together they had two children Connie (John) Leadford of Memphis, Tennessee and Matthew Young of Memphis, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister Anita Crockett of Corinth, Mississippi and her granddaughter Victoria Leadford also of Memphis.
Along with her parents Nancy was also preceded in death by her sister Diane Pfannsteil.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, July 2 from one o'clock in the afternoon until funeral services begin at two o'clock all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122. Burial will follow with escorted procession in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery. Celebrant Jonathan Matthews will lead the day's services.
