

Napoleon McNeil Jr., 67, passed away March 29, 2017. He was a veteran of the United States Army with 32 years of service. He loved to work on computers and was a devoted New England Patriots fan. He was a loving, humble and gentle man, who was also a passionate student of the Bible, earning a master’s degree in Theology from the University of Hawaii. He was a member of Germantown Kingdom Hall and had been baptized at Baron Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon McNeil, Sr. and Rosie Lee McNeil; sister, Rose Rosser and a brother, Nathaniel McNeil.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Blackshear McNeil; daughters, Pamela McNeil, Anquanette Blackshear, and Venezuela MT Blackshear; sons, Simon McNeil, Demetrius McNeil, Josef McNeil, and Michael Wrease, Jr.; sisters, Queen (James) Jordan, Ruth (Jake) Hancox and Vertie McNeil, Hattie Parker, Bobbie McNeil, and Lillie McNeil; brothers, Nathaniel McNeil, Eugene McNeil, and Johnny McNeil; and a host of others cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar with interment to follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
