Nathan Franklin Rast passed away peacefully at Belmont Village on December 13, 2023, at the age of 84. Nathan was born on August 21, 1939 in Herron Hill, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Juanita Rast.
Nathan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marcia Rast, two sons, Keith Rast (Elizabeth) of Fleming Island, FL, Britt Rast (Leah) of Collierville, TN, and stepdaughter Melissa Havens (Steve), 4 grandsons, Bryan, Jake, Zach and Caleb, and 3 granddaughters, Emily, Katie and Sarah. He also leaves his sister Judy (Roy) Mickelson of Buffalo/Mesa, CO.
One of his proudest accomplishments was founding Ranger Incorporated, a manufacturer of industrial pumps, where he served as CEO from 1989 to 2013. He was a member of the Jaycees and served as president of his local chapter. He served as an elder at Cordova Presbyterian Church, and later attended Advent Presbyterian Church. He loved fishing, snow skiing, University of Memphis basketball, going to the beach, and he never met a dessert he didn’t like. Most of all he loved his family.
A memorial service will be held at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Ave. Chapel on December 29th. Visitation and appetizers will be held from 11:00 – 1:00 with the service at 1:00 and burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Advent Presbyterian Church, Memphis, TN.
