Arrangements are with Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel and Memphis Memory Gardens with a private burial and no public service planned.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Annette Martindale of Memphis and survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Dick Bruce of Germantown.
After graduation Nelda moved to Memphis from Mississippi and was employed in sales with MM Cohn Department Store. She retired from MM Cohn after twenty plus years of service due to her mother's health condition and was dedicated to her mother until her mother's death in 2004. In times of trouble she would say "I'm Susie's daughter. I can do this."
God found a new home for Nelda five years ago when she became a resident of Plough Towers. She loved living here and loved the people and wonderful quality of life.
Nelda was a special needs person--will never be forgotten and will be carried in the hearts of those who loved her unconditionally.
