Nelda Fay Gray

Memphis, TN – Nelda Fay Hutson Gray, 81, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in Memphis Tennessee. She was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on March 1, 1942, to Oscar and Polly Hutson. Nelda graduated from Tupelo High School in 1960 and worked in accounting in Tupelo and Memphis for many years before retiring.

Nelda loved her family, her church family at Trinity United Methodist Church and her friends. Those who knew her felt her caring touch.

Nelda is survived by her sisters, Janet Hutson of Tupelo MS, Betty (Gerald) Conaway of Tupelo, Rev. Mary Hutson of Tupelo, and brother, David Hutson of Mooreville MS, and by extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her close friend, Nancy Rankin of Memphis.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Memphis, with Rev. Sara Corum and Rev. Mary Hutson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1738 Galloway Ave., Memphis TN 38112 or to your favorite charity.
