Nellie Ann Cooper

Nellie Ann Cooper, age 83, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024. After spending almost 6 weeks in the hospital, most of the time in the ICU, my mom met her Lord & Savior face to face today. She was at peace & was ready to go. She told one of my nephews that “Gdad was waiting to dance with her”. What a glorious day in Heaven being reunited with her husband of 63 years. Heaven gained a true Angel. Her favorite place was her home & most treasured gifts were her children, their spouses, her grandchildren & great grandchildren. She opened her home & heart to anyone who was a part of her life. More than 40 years of her life were dedicated to serving the Special Needs population alongside my dad. My mom had possessions on earth that no amount of money can buy….she loved enormously, she encouraged immensely, & lived by faith unwaveringly. She lived the most beautiful simple life, in spite of struggles & heartbreaks that came her way, she always looked forward to tomorrow. She would say, “you never know what tomorrow may bring”. One of her favorite verses was “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday & today & forever.” Thank you for being the greatest mom, we are proud of you, we are grateful for you, we love you…until we are reunited with you one day soon.

A visitation for Nellie will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Rd, Memphis, TN 38016. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 2000 Appling Rd, Memphis, TN 38016. A committal service will occur Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
