Eller Norine Sanderson Walton went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 20, 2021 at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy Lee, and her son, Arthur Johnson (AJ). Mrs.Walton was born May 30, 1922 in Silerton, TN to Jesse Hutson Sanderson and Sarah Elizabeth Murley Sanderson and was the last remaining sibling of seven sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by: daughters - Elizabeth June Walton, Sandra L. Smith, Rosamary W. Posey and daughter-in-law, Martha J. Walton. Three grandchildren - Adell (Chad) Tripson of Atlanta, GA; Becky (John) Thomas of Arlington, TN and Adam (Heather) Smith of Brownsville, TN. Seven great grandchildren - Ainsley, Abby, Emma and Will Thomas; Lia, Karah, and John Fletcher Smith.
For all her life, her focus as a homemaker was always the care of her family. She was especially dedicated to the care of her daughter, June.
Mrs. Walton loved to sew and made many beautiful quilts and quilt tops. In her later years, the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary was the beneficiary of over 400 handmade walker bags and lap blankets for hospital patients and others in need.
Mrs. Walton was a dedicated member of Wells Station Baptist Church for over 69 years. She was their oldest in age and oldest in membership years. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and gave the devotion at their senior luncheon group, "Young at Heart".
The family will receive friends Friday, April 23 from 12-2pm at Family Funeral Care with the funeral service to follow at 2pm. The burial will take place at Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN.
