Rev. Norman Luther Groteluschen, 96, is in the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ. He passed away on July 23, 2021. His wife, Margaret Groteluschen, and two children who died in infancy, and six brothers and three sisters and son-in-law Wesley Stewart preceded him in death.
His sons, Rick Groteluschen (Judy), Labadie, MO, Ron Groteluschen (Debbie), Bluffton, SC, survive Norman and his daughter, Becky Stewart, Atoka, TN. Norman enjoyed the company of his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He served as pastor for 26 years at various congregations. In 1975, Norman accepted the call to serve as Executive Secretary of Missions, Education and Stewardship in the Mid-South District; in 1985, he was elected President of the Mid-South District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. During this time, he served on a number of committees and task forces as a member of the Council of Presidents until his retirement in 1994. He was a long time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 28 from 5:00-7:00. A Memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials donations can be made to Christ the King Lutheran School Scholarship Fund and Christ the King Lutheran Building fund, Concordia Seminary, St Louis, MO; or charity of donor’s choice.
