Mrs. Opal Irene Birdno Smith was born on April15, 1921 in Portia, Missouri and died on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at her daughter, Connie Smith's residence in Trumann, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ. She is survived by her eight children: Linda Irene Powell of Lepanto, Arkansas, Billy Joe Smith of Plant City, Florida, Jimmy Nolan Smith of Lepanto, Arkansas, Paul C. Smith of Lepanto, Arkansas, Connie Smith of Trumann, Arkansas, Jackie Smith of Lepanto, Arkansas, Ronnie Smith of Blytheville, Arkansas and Renee Smith of West Memphis, Arkansas, 24 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, A.C. Smith, her parents, Samuel David and Ida Bell Birdno, and two brothers, Raymond and Charlie Birdno. Arrangements were under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home-Poplar of Memphis, Tennessee.
