Owen Richard “Rick” Ruede, 72, of Memphis, passed away on October 14, 2015, at his home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, at 12:30 p.m., and funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Interment will follow at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, with military honors. Born and raised in California, Rick entered the U.S. Navy after high school. He served for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Following his Navy career, he spent 19 years with General Dynamics. Mr. Ruede was active in the VFW, having served as both the District and Regional Commander in Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanne Ruede; two step-daughters, Cindy Settlemire and Tammye Renne Corey; his sister-in-law, Leah Stricklin Gailor; and two grandchildren.
