

Paul Marvin "Marv" Ayers, a faithful and beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on December 23, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marv was a kind-hearted and generous man who lived a life marked by hard work and loyalty.
Marv spent his early years in Illinois, attending schools in Bloomington and Champaign before his family relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1945. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1947.
His career began in the parts department of a Packard-Pontiac dealership and included roles as a storeroom assistant for Timken Roller Bearing Company and assistant manager at a bowling alley. In 1950, Paul chose to follow in his father's footsteps, becoming a sheet metal worker. His dedication to service was evident when the U.S. Army called him to serve in May 1951. He completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was then sent to Korea, where he served as a Gunner on a 60 caliber mortar with the Second Division, earning the Combat Infantry Badge.
After his honorable discharge in February 1953, Marv continued his career with Dixie Sheet Metal in Memphis, Tennessee, contributing to significant projects such as the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs. His career spanned 24 years as a superintendent for various projects across the country. He also worked for Engineered Mechanical Equipment, Johnson and Scott, and James M. Pleasants Company, retiring on December 20, 2013.
In March 1951, Marv married Barbara Morgan, and together they shared a life enriched by love and companionship. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Ann Morgan Ayers, and their son, Chad Ayers, along with his wife, Heather. Marv's family also includes his cherished dogs, Bentley and Bella.
Marv and Barbara were avid bowlers, a passion he pursued from 1948 to 2009. His personal achievement in bowling was a high series of 786 in the state of West Virginia in 1962.
Paul Marvin Ayers will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, kindness, and the love he shared with family and friends. His legacy of generosity and loyalty will continue to inspire those who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 1 PM until 2 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Comfort Dog Ministry or Bowling Veterans Association at BVL.org.
