Phyllis Yvonne Porter

Phyllis Yvonne Porter, 84, passed away at her home January 19, 2021. She loved working in her yard, growing flowers; and she was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member Bethel Baptist Church in Walls, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Porter, Sr.; a daughter, Kym Smallwood; son, James “Jayme” L. Porter; her parents, Leonard and Rosetta Arendale and a sister, Sharon Arendale.

She is survived by a daughter, Nicole Thomas (Chester); son, Jerry Lee Porter, Jr.; grandchildren, Kira Smallwood, Kala Love, Tandra Frazier (Chris), J.L. Porter III (Sarah), Raven Toliver (Dylan), Katelyn Thomas and C. J. Thomas (Emily) and eight great-grandchildren and one more to arrive in March.

The family will receive friends on Monday January 25, 2021 beginning at 1 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134
