Raymond Earl Richardson

Dr. Raymond Earl Richardson was born in Memphis, TN and educated in Memphis, TN, graduating from Geeter High School. Dr. Richardson was an advocate of education. His zeal for knowledge empowered him to receive his doctorate degree in the field of mathematics. Dr. Richardson was a professor who taught at Tennessee State University for over thirty years. He was the longest tenured professor at Tennessee State University.

Dr. Richardson leaves his loving and devoted spouse, Mrs. Lillie Echols Richardson of Acampo, CA. He also leaves two sons, Raymond Earl Richardson, Jr. of Chicago, Il and Komla Richardson of Bowie, MD. He leaves a sister, Mamie Eldridge of Anaheim, CA and a brother, Dr. F. C. Richardson of Merrillville, IN. Dr. Richardson also leaves several grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Raymond will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home, 1165 Airways Blvd, Memphis, TN 38114. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5988 Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN 38115. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at Memorial Park South Woods, 5485 Hacks Cross Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
