Rebecca G. Aikens

Rebecca Louise Greer Aikens went to be with her husband Marvin Shumaker Aikens on January 29 2017. She was preceded in death by her beloved Marvin, her parents Harry E. Greer and Cecil M. Greer and her brother Art Greer.

She and Marvin were founding members of Macon Road Presbyterian Church. She served as president of the Women of the Church and as an elder. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Church.

Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and with Marvin's help had a beautiful yard and gorgeous roses.

She was a wonderful mother to her children and a doting loving grandmother to her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her sister Audrey Evans of Woodstock GA, her children Marvin S Aikens Jr. (Betty) of Tigard, OR, Bitsy Siano (Jerry) of Cordova and Harry Aikens of Memphis. Her adored grandchildren Marvin M Siano (Trish) , Becky S Billings (Thompson) of Cordova, TN, Marvin S Aikens lll (Demaris), and John W Aikens of Tigard, OR. Rebecca had five great grandchildren who brighten her days.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN

Her family wants to thank the nurses, CNAs and staff at Rainbow Health and Rehab and Crossroads Hospice for their loving tender care of Rebecca.
