Retta Fay Jeffers

Born February 1, 1960, in Yuba City, California, Retta was the cherished daughter of Joseph Jeffers and Anna Bell Jeffers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who treasured time spent with those closest to her. Her grandkids called her "Grams," and being with them was one of the greatest joys of her life — she adored them and savored every minute they spent together. Retta was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. She was known for her generosity and kindness, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear to anyone who needed it. Retta worked for more than 20 years at Gibson's Donuts, where she was known as "Little Retta" to many and where she became a familiar and friendly face to countless customers over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus Marion; her daughter, Deeanna McKiernan Haidar; and her grandchildren, Wyatt McKiernan, Jaylynn Sessums, and Madalynn Pate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Jeffers and Anna Bell Jeffers; her sister, Joanne Jeffers; and her son, Jay McKiernan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of Retta's life at 4:00 p.m., at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122.
