Nichole, I’m sending much love and prayers to you and the family. Richard Parker was one of my rookies when he came to the West Precinct after graduation from the Memphis Police Department. He was from day one and enjoyable fella to train and work with throughout his years of service with the department.  We have had many many conversations and I will truly miss my friend 😢. We go through life’s journey and hopefully meet people of like mine and good spirit Richard was that person. In my over 30yrs knowing him there is not one bad thing I can say about Richard Parker. May your sole have eternal peace my friend.

Richard was a wonderful man.  We were very close friends for over 20 years, and shared a lot of good times.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the Parker family.

Lieutenant Parker as I knew him was a great guy! Always joking and laughing, he kept the mood light at all times. We always talked sports, University of Memphis basketball and the NFL. He  was a  just a joy to be around and he was a terrific person.  Rest in heaven Parker!

Richard and I brotherhood started at WATKINS CHAPEL CME CHURCH in 1964.We attended Owen Jr College ,later LeMonye Owen College. We also went into the USAF .HE in December 1968 and I in February,1969.Our primary purpose was not to go to Vietnam but he went and I went to California.We both return to Memphis and enrolled in LeMoyne Owen in1972.He later went to (Graduate)Memphis St and I graduated from LeMonye Owen.A stand up guy ,a quality friend, l grieve for the loss of my brother. My deepest condolences and prayers are with the family Nikki ,Irene, Thomas, Cynthia and Joe..  .I dedicated 1st Thessalonians 4:14 to my brethren in Christ.Rest In Peace

Being friends with Richard was a joy. He and my grandmother had a bond that was infectious. This bond attached our families. Richard was our neighbor for many years while living in Timberlake. He was supportive and cared about our community. Both as a neighbor and protective servant of MPD.  You will be greatly missed my friend. Our deepest condolences, prayers and wishes of healing to your Family.

A truly lovely man.  Richard and I worked together, he was truly a gentleman.  My condolences to his family.

Richard was my neighbor for 16 years, a dear friend, and  an all around kind, gentle soul. Always during the Christmas holidays he would show up at my door with a delicious cake , no reason, just to share  Christmas happiness. Rest in peace . Karon
