

After a richly blessed life, Robert W. Adams, 66, died on April 29, 2012 after a long battle with diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease. Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; two daughters, Tracye Chaney (Steven) and Kelley Derrick (Ryan); 4 granddaughters, Savannah Sipe, Mary Hannah Sipe, Lydia Sipe, and Ryley Derrick; 1 grandson, Kolton Derrick; and 2 step-grandsons, Jay Chaney and Jared Chaney. He had a tender heart for all and always put other people first. He served at White Station Church of Christ for several years as a deacon and then as a elder until health issues forced his resignation, truly being the hands and feet of Jesus. Mr. Adams attended Freed-Hardeman University and Lipscomb University, and retired as Business Manager from Harding Academy in 2001. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1 at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at White Station Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to Harding Academy.
